"Soul of the Desert" is a feature documentary that follows Georgina, a transgender woman from the Wayúu people, on her journey to obtain her national ID card. She once had documents under her deadname, but lost them after her home was set on fire - her neighbors refused to accept that a trans indigenous woman lived among them. Following the attack, Georgina decides to do whatever it takes to have her true identity recognized. It is only with her documents rectified by the Colombian authorities that she will be able to exercise a fundamental right of every citizen: the right to vote.
