Bio
Estúdio Giz is an audiovisual production company founded in 2014. Based in Rio de Janeiro, the company works on the development and production of projects for TV and cinema in partnership with independent creators.
It produced the feature films "Sem Seu Sangue" (2019), by Alice Furtado, with its world premiere at the 2019 Cannes Film Festival Directors' Fortnight, and "Paulistas" (2017), by Daniel Nolasco, with its world premiere at the competitive show "Next Masters" at the 2017 Dok Leipzig. with world premieres at the 2021 Toronto Film Festival, “A Alma Quer Voar” (2020), by Diana Montenegro and “Canto dos Ossos” (2020), by Jorge Polo and Petrus de Bairros (Best Feature Film Award at the Tiradentes Film Festival) 2020). Estúdio Giz is also an associate producer of "El Auge del Humano" (2016), by Eduardo Williams, winner of the Golden Leopard at the "Cineasti del Presente" show at the Locarno Film Festival in 2016. In addition, the production company has 13 short films in its catalogue, screened and awarded at more than 40 film festivals, such as FICUNAM, Havana Festival, Tiradentes Film Festival, Queer Lisboa, among others.
